The Department of Lifelong Education and Foreign Studies performs pedagogical and scientific-research activities from the point of view of securing societal roles in the field of lifelong education and creating conditions for obtaining professional education for the general public, including internationally, e.g. in the form of "Master of Business Administration" - MBA, accepted in professional practice.
One of the tasks of the department is also to use the scientific potential of the school's employees at its disposal for the purpose of scientific advancement and research in the field of professional education.
The department provides students with information on highly professional fields as well as on the political and legal system of the Slovak Republic. Since VŠBM educates graduates for private enterprises as well as state administration, the institute provides them with a higher level of knowledge in the field of individual positive professional disciplines, primarily in labor law, business law, process simulation, business ethics, management, etc.
The focus area of the department in the provision of education is the target group of applicants - students, made up of active managers from practice, but also graduates of at least a bachelor's degree, who are interested and need to expand their education in this way as well. In its activities, the department tries to connect theory with practice.
Employees of the department take part in regular conferences organized by VSBM in Košice as well as in other conferences in the Slovak Republic and abroad. They are also involved in the solution of grant projects in various fields of education and related research.
